In the case of the Sabian HHX Thin 14-inch crash, it's not about the size but about what you do with it. While this little cymbal may not immediately strike you as an undisputed powerhouse, it certainly knows how to make music. The bell has been kept nice and small for fast attack but has also been given a raw finish to, and this won't come as a huge surprise, add a nice, raw edge to the sound. After being trimmed and forced into shape, this cymbal received the special HHX hammering treatment to make it even thinner than other thin crashes and able to provide darker tone without losing any sonic power.
